TLR; a decent place for dry noodles We came in for dinner on a Sunday, and got a table right away, which was surprising because usually there’s a line out the door. Between the two us, we ordered the potato croquettes, the roast beef aburasoba and the kinoko aburasoba. Overall, I’d say the food was decent. Our waiter recommended adding vinegar to our noodles, which really made all the difference. The roast beef aburasoba was super flavorful and well done, but there wasn’t anything exceptional about the kinoko aburasoba. The fried tofu however is really nice - crispy on the outside but it just melts in your mouth. Probably could have skipped the croquettes. Portions looked small when it arrived but they’re super filling and not really that small at all.

Delicious food! The best Japanese experience in the neighborhood. Both noodles and takoyaki very very nice. I came two times in a week - and it was fresh, tasty, felt like authentic Japanese food (which is so rare). I love it! I could eat there every day! Will miss this place. I wish they opened a branch in south of Georgia 🙏🏼

We went at 2:30pm so we didn't have a problem to get seated. The dry ramen was new for me but so good. We got Homura and Nikumori Aburasoba. Personally I preferred Homura which is also their top selling dish. Very filling. Good portion. Will be frequentling this for sure.

Clearly an unpopular opinion, but this place shouldn’t be rated a 4.5 and should be much lower. It gives me no pleasure to give a negative review (feel free to peruse my previous reviews where I continuously give praise to others) but what I witnessed when I dined here at Kajiken was unacceptable. It was on a rainy Sunday, around 1pm. Already, there was a line out the door which indicated that this place seemed to be a popular lunch spot. This was my introduction to aburasoba, but thanks to this experience, it was not a great one. In fact, it was awful. I believe the health department needs to come in and check this place out and I don’t say that lightly. I was with one other person and we were seated at a table that seemed to be the closest to the kitchen. I sincerely wish we had sat

In the abundance of delicious noodle shops around cap hill, Kajiken is a great option if you're looking for a dry noodle dish. I tried the Nikumori Aburasoba which had large slices of pork belly on top. While delicious, the pork was unwieldy and difficult to eat. The real star is the creamy egg yolk over the hand pulled noodles. We came here on a weekday for dinner and were seated within a few minutes. Service was fast and friendly, and the menu is small so this is a great spot for a casual dinner. Overall, this wouldn't be my first choice for noodles in the area, but I know I would leave satisfied. Lots of street parking along Cal Anderson if you're patient. Or there's a paid lot next door if you're not.
