Katar River Restaurant

Absolutely loved the food and experience. Our group ordered the meat combo platter and the veggie platter. So much tasty food and reasonably priced. One of the owners came out and chatted with our table and seems they are moving to a spot a couple blocks away which will give them much needed space. They already bake their bread and injera at the other location. I will be back regularly for the food but also to restock my pantry with spices, lentils, etc from their store.

This was such an incredible meal! We got the 2 person veggie combo- fully vegetarian and packed with flavor! Everyone was so kind and we got to try traditional Ethiopian coffee! Highly recommend checking out this spot ✨

After losing Fasika in St. Paul, I was craving the same delicious food. Lo and behold, this is a very good restaurant. It’s low key, but it’s popular for the right reasons. Enter the right hand door through the grocery store to get into the restaurant. A server will take you through to be seated. You can pay at your table. Portions are generous, flavors are delicious and service is top notch. Ginger tea is complimentary. I’m so glad I brought my friend from out of town to dine here. I will be returning with friends for more dining experiences in the future. Thank you Betty for a wonderful experience.

Just dined on great Ethiopian food at Katar River in Minneapolis. Very tasty! Friendly and welcoming staff -- and customers. More food than we could possible eat in one sitting, so we now have lunches for tomorrow. I had lamb. My spouse went vegetarian. Small grocery at the front, so we picked up a loaf of bread for home, too. If it's a cold, winter night (it was), get the ginger tea. Lots of ginger. Yum!
