Disappointing! I’ll start with customer service: 2/10 Heavy on the no sense of urgency from everyone!! Apparently I was supposed to wait till the cashier was finished texting before I could purchase my food.🤔 In addition to the slowness, the cashier was handling money, food boxes, utensils, and bags with no gloves or sanitizer. Here’s the problem, the cashier took cash from someone who just popped up out the blue then he reaches for the utensils that are not wrapped in plastic which would protect from the germs that were just on that money he was touching and placed it in my bag🤔 Wow The lady who was preparing food will unfortunately get someone sick from cross contamination. For example if someone wants greens and cabbage for their sides why would you drain off both of those juices, c

First off I love how the business is black owned . But I was very disappointed with the food the potato home fries tasted like a Mexican dish the bacon was very hard and stuck together , eggs were very bland no salt or pepper the sausage wasnt that good either if I had to give this place stars it would definitely be a 3/5 overall great service but I would choose forest square deli or Kim’s diner over this :/

I love this place! The staff is attentive the food is delicious and random side note their bathroom is relatively clean. I am a vegetarian and a mac and cheese lover. I typically get stuff like rice cabbage mac and cheese etc and other places be it Jamaican, Caribbean, or other soul food places sometimes have runny/wet mac and cheese but theirs is baked and delicious. Quickly becoming one of my go to.

The new location is much better, but the food is not. I was very disappointed at the bland taste and small portions (compared to the original location) of my whiting dinner with macaroni & cheese and black eyed peas. The cashier was the same, but I believe the cook has definitely changed! My rum cake was moist, but just ok too. I did enjoy my half-n-half. They do not offer the honey bread anymore, and my corn bread was bland too. I think it's ridiculous that they charge .25 cents for more than one paper bag. They do have a bathroom next to the condiment stand, but I don't know if patrons are welcome to use it. Other patrons said that the lines are long on Sundays. They are located in a small plaza, with no street parking, so parking will be limited on busy days, like Sunday.

Ordered: turkey wings, mashed potatoes w.gravy, candied yams. Fried fish, Mac n cheese, yams. Pork ribs, Mac n cheese and yams. (2) cornbreads. Didn’t get cornbread at all. The yams had this weird clear coating on top that was disgusting. No taste/seasoning on anything. We tried to at least eat the Mac n cheese and just threw it away. The carrot cake smelled rancid when opened. Was wet on bottom. Terrible exp’c. Whole Sunday dinner in the trash:(
