Keys Cafe & Bakery

OMG this place is a hidden gem! We had the best food and service that we have had in a long time. It wasn’t what we expected from a Cafe & Bakery but everything we ordered was so amazing that our plates were completely clean (even though the portions of food were big)! I had the tomato bisque soup with a grilled cheese made from homemade bread. This was a perfect combination! Yum yum and then some! The carrot cake was the kind you search for but never can find! Our service was excellent and the place is very family friendly. I highly recommend Keys Cafe & Bakery on Roberts St in downtown St. Paul, MN.

mashed potatoes were exactly that and the gravy was excellent- not that brown goop that some restaurants slop on things… I also tried their Monte Cristo sandwich and was pleased with it as well… The house made cakes and pies are extremely Drool Worthy!!… The Dutch Apple Pie was a different, but good spin with the Carrot Cake & German Chocolate being Outstanding… Both cakes were moist, rich and properly iced to bring out the flavors… Coffee is excellent as well… Our server Miles was a great resource when deciding items to order and Tyree, the Kitchen Mgr & Cook was an engaging and enthusiastic host… Great Food, Great Service and Great Atmosphere along with being Family Owned and staffed…

Wow is all I can say , to say the least. Today was my first time trying Keys Cafe and for this establishment to be raved about , the cashier was not so pleasant. I was not greeted as I came into the cafe . I respectfully said hello to the cashier who rudely ignored me . I then had to search for another worker to be serviced. The second workers attitude was polite when I asked to use the restroom before my purchase . Once I was able to take a look at the desserts presented , I was then approached by the same worker to ask if I need assistance . Finally , someone who knows some customer service etiquette. After asking for a few moments to browse , the rude cashier reappeared to finally assist me. . . She proceeds to throw in how keys has one an award. . . Well I sure hope it wasn’t for ser

On top of that, they have the classic "service charge" on top of your bill. Certainly, this isn't on the server, but a reflection of Keys, the City of St. Paul, and the economic times. So anyway, if you needed another reason to visit other than the food is incredible, they are really nice folks, too.

Wow, that’s the place to for breakfast (and it’s just a short walk from the Intercontinental hotel) with uber-friendly service, cooked to order meals, XXL espresso drinks and even a full bar. Cakes galore and look at those cinnamon rolls!
