Khue's Kitchen

Came here on a Saturday evening. The place is spacious with plenty of tables, but it was still pretty busy. We arrived around 5 PM and were lucky not to wait, but I’d recommend making a reservation during peak hours. The crunchy wings were crispy, slightly spicy, and very flavorful. The Sticky jicama ribs were the highlight absolutely amazing. I’m not a vegetarian, but I tried them out of curiosity and loved the unique texture. Even though it’s tofu, it almost feels like meat, and the slight spice keeps it from being too heavy. Prices are reasonable, and I’d definitely come back to try more dishes.

Incredible flavors happening at Khue’s. The chicken salad alone is worth a revisit, but our table really enjoyed all we tried. Weekend-only lettuce wraps were perhaps the least notable thing we ordered, while the jicama “ribs” are unlike anything you’ve tried before (maybe you’ll love them, maybe not…), but in its entirety the menu offers perfect variety in a compact selection. Bright, punchy flavors throughout made this really memorable and affogato was the perfect close to the night. (Looking forward to wings and a chicken sandwich on the next visit!)

The food and service here is executed very well, but I personally found most of the food too spicy for my palate. We started with the cream cheese wontons (not spicy, of course) and they were great! Freshly fried and served immediately with a great sweet and sour sauce - so good. While I found the texture and overall flavors of the jicama ribs, I wish it had been labeled as a spicy dish. The heat level was unexpected for me as it didn't list chili in the ingredients. Maybe that's on me for not expecting it, as Vietnamese food typically does give heat! The fried rice was truly excellent, albeit still quite spicy (chili crunch is listed, so this was expected) - it's a healthy dose of chili crunch lol. I got the ribs which tasted different and not in a 100% good way. Texture was weird. I wished they gave me one more rib because it seems like the other plates at the table got better portion sizes. The star of the meal was the Thai Tea Tres Leches which was pretty solidly good. Small menu (which I was a little surprised at) which I got to try most of because we shared a bite of what we got. Probably wouldn't come back here, but I got to scratch it off my restaurant list.

The food was delicious. We had the Sticky Jicama Ribs, which are vegan, sweet and flavorful. We also had the pork chop, which was juicy and flavorful. The Thai tea tres leches is definitely worth trying.
