I had the most amazing dinner! Highly recommend the Ricotta Cavatelli - it was even better than what I thought possible. Thank you to our very friendly server for the recommendation. Definitely leave room for dessert.
I ordered food up to the room on 11/8. Food was mediocre. Everything lacked seasoning for breakfast. The lox bagel we got would have been 100 times better with cream cheese and not whatever sauce they put on there. Sausages needed more flavor, the first time I havent really enjoyed saisages. Croissants were ok, but the ham and cheese one was really bad we could not even eat it. Overall food was a 5/10. I think the prices do not match what you get. I suggest the team revists how they make their dishes to improve or hire a new chef. You dont expect to stay at such a nice hotel and be fed that in the morning. I would even go as far as to say I would starve until checkout time.
Disappointed with our experience at Kingbird. While my steak was perfectly cooked, the rest of the table didn’t fare as well—our pasta dishes were chewy and undercooked, and my wife had to send back her fish due to an off-putting smell. For the price point, we expected much higher quality and consistency across the menu. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to the fine dining standards it aims to project. Would not recommend.
Omakase experience at the bar is a must for a unique date night! Chef prepares everything in front of you and explains each dish and how to eat it. Every item was layers of wonderful flavors. Staff were attentive and helpful. Atmosphere is chic and romantic being set in the famous watergate hotel. Limited time event so get a reservation before the chef moves on.
We had dinner and breakfast at Kingbird, and overall had a very nice experience. At dinner we were served by Henry, who had a tremendous sense of humor but was also very knowledgeable and helpful. He steered us through the wine selection and we ended up with a very nice bottle. I had the filet, which while pricey was delicious and properly prepared. The salmon was also delicious and cooked to perfection. Breakfast was a disappointment, however. They only do a buffet on the weekend, and while the food was tasty, the selections were no better than a chain hotel breakfast and did not match the $45pp price. There are no other nearby options on the weekend so we went with the flow. Overall, we found Kingbird to be a good place for dinner, but I would suggest looking for other options for week
