Kirk's SteakBurgers

Since Clarke's Charcoal Broiler in Mountain View tragically closed a few years ago, I've been on the lookout for a classic burger spot. Clarke's was founded in 1945 and served the best burger in the South Bay for decades. Canyon Inn in Redwood City is also a great classic burger spot with a lot of 49ers history during the Bill Walsh years. Kirk's Steakburgers was founded in Palo Alto in 1948 and is still going strong with locations in Campbell and Palo Alto. I was thrilled to find out they just opened a new location a few blocks away from my neighborhood off the Alameda next to Santa Clara University. Heard about their other location but this new spot is a lot closer so went in today. Overall just had their double triple and it was a pretty good burger. Just a straight grilled burger with the normal toppings and fixings which make a fine burger. Pricing wise they are around what you'd expect so definitely worth a try.

I just had lunch at the brand new Kirk's Steakburgers location in Santa Clara & the entire experience was exceptional. Service was fast, friendly & super attentive + the food was cooked to perfection (I had the jalapeño burger & shared steak fries with my friend) & everything was scrumptious + the interior of the new space is beautifully set up & looks awesome! I can't wait to go back for drinks & sports!

This is the BEST hamburger joint that I've EVER BEEN to! It's fresh and clean (even in their bathrooms). My husband's LOVES all the sports games that he can watch on their GIANT TV's. There menu is wonderful. We love their "Shrimp Daddy" dish and their "Smokehouse Burger" is phenominal! I only have one complaint is that they won't take take-out orders over the phone. You HAVE TO go in and wait for your order whether you eat there or order takeout. But, it's still one of THE BEST All-American restaurants you could ever want to eat at. "Luvs it"! :-)

We’ve known about Kirk’s burgers a while back because their Campbell location. Stumbled across this new Santa Clara spot for lunch and ordered for 2 adults and a toddler - 2 burgers, steak fries and onion rings. We ate everything, it was delicious. One of the best burgers I’ve had in the Bay Area hands down. The brioche bun, fresh springy lettuce… smokey beef patties. Superb! Will definitely be returning.
