We decided to try this place out a few month's ago and recently stopped in again for lunch. The food is really good, and very reasonably priced which is refreshing in this economy. They have the best fried mushroom appetizer I've ever had. My partner tried the homemade pork rinds and they were served hot and still crackling! He got the pastrami reuben which he said was excellent. I got the fried chicken tenders. I think it was a whole boneless breast split. Regardless, they were perfectly cooked! Service was kind of slow and it took a while to get acknowledged when we arrived even though a few of the staff were right by the entrance, but they did have a large group in the banquet room so maybe that's why. There was only 1 working restroom when we were there which was inconvenient for the a
Where to begin? Food- delicious, fresh, served hot, and a huge menu to choose from. For this trip ( my 3rd visit) I ordered the burnt ends with tots and collard greens. My husband had fried oysters, spoonbread and fries. Although he ate every last bite of his meal, I could only eat half of mine since the portions are so large. Service- we need more professional, seasoned servers like those that work here! Each visit has shown us that the women who waited on us must like their jobs because they are super friendly, efficient, patient and pay attention to detail. Value- let’s just say I’m not sure where else you can go to get great food at these prices. No wonder it is always packed! And open breakfast through dinner 7 days a week is CRAZY GOOD. Hats off to yall.
Stopped here doing a road trip. Got seated right away. I ordered the fried bologna sandwich and spoon bread side. The thick slice of bologna was fried perfectly! It had fresh tomatoes and lettuce. There was the right amount of mayonnaise to add flavor but didn't cover up any of the others. Each bite exploded with different textures and flavors. The spoonbread was smooth and had the consistency of a custard. The supplied butter over the top added a creamy taste. My server Amber was very attentive and kept our drinks filled. Prices are very reasonable. It's a 2 1/2 hour ride from my home. But, I can't wait to go back.
Dad and I stopped in for a quick breakfast at this charming diner style restaurant. Our service was friendly and attentive and our food was great! I had brisket eggs Benedict that had some fresh wilted spinach on it and a side of tater tots fried in BEEF TALLOW! they have separate fryers one with beef tallow and one with soybean oil. Love this!! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the brisket was a neat change from traditional Benedict. Other Benedict options included traditional, VA ham, or OYSTERS! Dad had blueberry pancakes and sausage links and reported that both were delicious although the sausage was a little dry. We both had coffee which was kept topped off by our great server Rebecca. This is definitely on our list of return spots which is rare in the current restaurant climate.
1st and last visit.. food great and served hot all my followers know that the food must be served 🔥 service is great from my waiter .. they say me in the back like where a person could not be seen over by the noisy ticket machine right when I got off work drove 46 minutes to eat peacefully..I know was the only person of color.. anyway leaving I just got a bunch of stairs and looks like I did not belong there by the customers very uncomfortable and erie feeling uneasy ..have not felt that way in years.. I will not be returning due to that.. such a shame.. 1st impressions are lasting impressions..
