I have to tell you, this place has some of the worst service you have ever experienced. Horrible. The food is good - that’s why I gave 2 stars. But the people serving you are just not good. There are times no gloves are used to prepare your food, they whisper when trying to cater to you (and there is loud music in the place), and they almost always act board trying to serve you. Never seen anything like this in any restaurant in NY. Trust me, even though you want food, you will be upset coming to be this.

The food is great. The stew chicken was amazing. Get extra sauce!!!! Though if you aren’t familiar by looks, there is no labels. Simply ask though and they’ll tell ya. We got a medium combo plate. Rice beans. Plantain. Mac salad. And it was ALOT. Though the protein portion could use some work. Though far from home, I’d trek back out for the food. Seating is limited. Maybe 3 tables. So be prepared to take it to go.

Horrible service. The servers have attitudes like they don't even appreciate their jobs. This was my first time and probably the last. I admire service and quality hand in glove.. So the attitude level is on GORDON RAMSEY, yet the food was Bodega quality. I ordered a Fried Pork Large Complete Platter and I Got mostly skin and inedible parts, veins, gristle, etc. I included pictures. Even the pepper sauce was spoiled, all they had to do was keep that refrigerated. It is purely my fault, I did see mixed reviews about the place, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Epic waste of time, money, and the food isn't worth the frustration of not only having to order with the rude staff, but getting mediocre portions of the Main Protein. I really can't comprehend the good reviews or how this place keeps its doors open. I have given this place four opportunities to improve my impression & they have failed EVERYTIME. I just spent almost twenty bucks on 2 sides & they both are horrible & I'm still left hungry having to buy more food. The potato salad is nearly spoiled you can smell it & the girl who prepared my portion had to be told to add more like honey you need to want to give it away cuz it's going bad already & it's close to closing. The macaroni & cheese is sooo DRY & has ZERO cheese NONE AT ALL & it's burnt & inedible on top with no seasoning no flavor just Boiled noodle & a couple pieces of bell pepper. This is beyond disgraceful. Take the Mac& cheese out of the warmer at some point Jesus its not rocket science. This

Pikliz is super tasty and spicy! Yummy. The place is crowded so be patient. They are overwhelmed but try to please. I had fritaille griot and it was delicious. The place felt like home. I definitely recommend. Thanks
