Krispy Krunchy Chicken

You will not find better fried chicken in Durham. Believe me, I've tried. Had a taste for chicken and waffles, but all my chicken was frozen. Went to KK for the chicken (tender box and chicken/thigh box came to $24) and I made the waffles and eggs at home. This wasn't my first visit here, but I finally remembered to take pics of the food before we ate. (Well, one piece is missing from each box in the picture. We each ate one as soon as we got home, it's that good 😂)

I enjoyed the chicken and wedges. However, I asked for 4 chicken wings and wedges. I was only given the wings no wedges and charged $14. Since I caught it the cashier then went and got my wedges after dealing with the register without washing his hands or getting any gloves. I went at 10pm so I’ll give them one more try earlier in the day as I did really enjoy my chicken.

Cajun approved! This is exactly what Popeyes USED to taste like in Louisiana twenty years ago before they went commercial. IYKYK. Yum!!

I have searched for fried chicken all over the Triangle for almost 10 years. Yes, I can fry my own, but sometimes you just want a quick fix that tastes homemade. I've tried the chains (Bojangles, Popeyes, etc), every black-owned southern restaurant in Durham, every result that comes up when you type "Fried Chicken Durham.... Fried Chicken Raleigh..... Fried Chicken Near Me" in Google Maps, every viral joint posted on IG and TikTok. I'd given up and decided I'd just have to cook it myself moving forward, flabbergasted that it's been THIS hard to find fried chicken in a southern state. We randomly needed fried chicken for a meal we had planned tonight and neither of us wanted to cook. Krispy Krunchy came up in the results. I was running errands and stopped by the store for a few things. I was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant inside. Great food, seemed well priced. I will definitely be going back. I had 3 thighs. They were very good!
