Kuroshio Sushi Bar and Grille at Cumberland

A friend of mine recommended this place for their fried rice and we decided to check it out. I was blown away by the quality of their rice and surprised to find more than just the traditional peas and carrots in the mix. There was well done chicken bits as well as zucchini in there and it really elevated the texture and flavor. I also tried their spring rolls and it was delicious. I’m not sure if they’re frozen and fried or fresh made, but the fact that I can’t tell the difference is already showing the care put into preparing it. It was just the two of us but I would’ve loved to have ordered the sushi, perhaps next time. The wait staff are friendly and professional. But I will say the decor was lacking. Tonight my wife and I were excited to finally try this place after seeing so many great reviews on TikTok. We arrived last night, and the environment was nice, lively, and welcoming. The host whose name I unfortunately forgot (but she’s in the picture) seemed bubbly and energetic maybe a little too fast-paced. My wife originally ordered three meals for us and our son, but we quickly changed it to two after our son said he already ate. We told her to remove one meal, and when my wife asked if she had everything correct, she confidently said yes. A few minutes later, she returned to say the kitchen mixed up the order and it would be fixed in about five minutes. At that point, we already suspected the mistake wasn’t the kitchen it was her. I just discovered Kuroshio Sushi Bar and Grill, and I'm hooked! The food is absolutely amazing! Whether you're a sushi newbie or a seasoned pro, they've got something for everyone. Their sushi selection is on point, with plenty of options for both raw and cooked lovers. Plus, the prices are super reasonable. The staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful. I told them what I liked, and they hooked me up with some great recommendations. If you're looking for a solid sushi spot, look no further than Kuroshio! Highly recommend checking it out!

The only reason I’m giving it a three star is because the food tasted amazing. If it wasn’t because of that I would’ve giving this place a one star. The service was horrible, everyone was in a funk and I didn’t see one smile from any employees. My husband wanted a soup, and they also had an appetizer with the same name. The server didn’t explain the difference and once we got the food it wasn’t what we expected. Whenever we spoke with the server about it he got an attitude, rolled his eyes and just didn’t seem to wanting to help. They automatically charged for sauce. A small cup was $1, and they also automatically charged for tip as well.

This was my very first time coming to this restaurant and I was quickly seated. The staff were very polite. I had the fried calamari for an appetizer. It was fantastic!! It was lightly fried and fresh. I had the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls and those were the bomb. You can taste the freshness and they were a great portion size. I also ordered the chicken fried rice and the portion size was huge! A great amount for the price. I will be returning again to this restaurant!
