La Cantina Cocina Mexicana

Cozy Mom and Pops type restaurant. We were slightly hesitant to try as none of our friends had mentioned eating here. Very authentic, smaller, family owned type restaurant. You place your order, pay and then can wait inside or outside. There are plenty of picnic tables outside. Indoor seating as well. The food was freshly made while we waited no more than 10 minutes for it to be delivered to our table. Higher prices than expected, but understandable in this economy. Large portions that had to be boxed up and taken home. My husband and I both said we would have shared a plate if we had know how much food we were getting. Delicious and authentic Mexican food. They also have Cuban food as well. Try it and see for yourselves. We will be back in the near future. Thank you for the hospitality

Went there with my husband to try yesterday. Our queso was cold. Had two different people getting orders and drinks... my husband got american tacos, the meat was greasy. I ordered Mahi tacos. When they brought my food I could smell the fish.....smelled like they cooked bad fish....I said surely not maybe its spices...I took 3 bites and I've been sick since yesterday. Clearly the health department needs to check their freezer, prep areas, and food storage areas. Absolutely disgusting. And it was $58 for this crap with a side of food poisoning 😑

If you’re looking for delicious, affordable Mexican cuisine, look no further! The food here is the real deal. We started with the guacamole, and it was absolutely divine—easily some of the best I’ve ever had. What made the night even better was the service. Our server, Juan, was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Great food and great vibes. We will definitely be back!

Authentic Mexican cuisine at reasonable prices. The street asada tacos and steak fajita quesadilla were amazing! The salsa was very fresh as was the guacamole

Food was mediocre. I ordered the chicken fajitas appetizer which I had to search for the chicken. There wasn’t much on the plate. Flavor was good, but definitely not enough chicken. Husband ordered the shredded chicken enchiladas. He said they were great. Beans were ok, but not great. The Mexican restaurant in Edgewater has better beans. Service was lacking. Waited forever on a Sunday evening at 7:30 to have our order taken. Food came out quickly however, server came back to check on us after we had eaten most of it. Overall food was good, but not great. Definitely not a “wow” experience.
