La Chiva Loka

Ended up stumbling upon this place and was seated very quickly. The food arrived very quickly and boy was it delicious! Seriously, it was hot and tasty and just one of the best experienced we’ve had across the many places we’ve been to. If you are visiting or a local, you are in for a real treat at this place! We enjoyed everything we had and the only thing we noted is there is some spice with the red sauce for instance, but nothing that wasn’t edible. Our server was Caty and this was our only thing we could note some improvement on. We didn’t see much after we ordered and had to ask to get refilled and such. Not sure if it was just an off day or what. However, since the food was so amazing I still have to say this was a 5 star visit. We will be back!

We got table and service within 10 to 15 minutes of being there with a party of 6. Our waitresses were outstanding. I can't say the same about the food. Our chips and anything that came from the fryer tasted like they had been cooked in grease that was years past its expiration date and it was a bit funky. I would be willing to give another chance as it was maybe just a bad night.

Chips and salsa were good. Waitstaff was kind and attentive. The booths need a little work. The walls look dusty. Tall ceilings. A bit cold in the corner where they placed us. You have to wait to be seated. I ordered the Mummy Shrimp. The sauce is a bit spicy. Not an "Ahh" moment, but edible. The vegetables were a little undercooked. The rice was good. My friend had the Mexican ShrimpTaco. The corn shells were delicious. The shrimp was good. Also had margaritas. Prices were comparable to the area. Pay from the table. It's an ok place to eat. I would recommend it in a pinch.

Homemade chips, delicious queso, superb enchilada all made for a great meal. Friendly and attentive waitress. Highly recommend eating here!

Nice lunch stop on our way to Kalona. Very comfy outside seating and enough chicken and rice to share and be full. Tasty guacamole and chips.
