La Collina

Accidentally walked up on this restaurant while strolling & exploring Eastern Market. My Bestie and I just wanted a good place to eat with some good food and a chill ambiance. This place: La Collina DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We were amazed with this restaurant. It seems to be a neighborhood restaurant. The service was thoughtful and attentive. 10/10 What we ate: The AMAZING BRANZINO w/pickled onions was stellar! Now, before we ordered I took the liberty to google the reviews for the dishes...EVERYONE kept talking/RAVING about the Cauliflower & Brussel Sprouts (neither are my favorite veggie) I stand corrected...they were outstanding!! I don’t often write reviews, but as a restaurant owner, I would just like to say that this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time. From our initial greeting, to your new GM(absolute doll), to Aaron who was perfect in every way. Kiddos to your team! Very rarely do I find a place that exceeds all my expectations from food and service, but this was it! I am in the area at least once a month, and this will become my new got to place. Cauliflower, meatball, garlicky bread, lasagna and tagliatelle were perfection! Thank you again for a perfect evening!

We celebrated a birthday here recently. Everything we had was good, although the cauliflower was my favorite veggie (and that is saying something because I LOVE brussels sprouts and burrata--both good but that cauliflower was so amazing). My favorite of the pastas we had was the vodka sauce, but the lasagna was also fabulous.

First time dining at La Collina. Came in mid-week for dinner.  Superbly positive all-around experience, hence 5-stars, but 1 critique on the food. BEST PART: - Watching the employees work well as a team. - Ambiance WHO I'D RECOMMEND LA COLLINA FOR: - Dates - Holiday celebrations, anniversaries - Friend dates - Groups - Solo individual (nice individual seating areas and some small tables for one) - Tourists who want to experience quality Italian dining in DC without breaking the bank AMBIANCE: - Music is set low, so you don't have to yell to chat w your dining partner or spit food into their ears so they can hear you. - Lighting is well-done, soft and comfortable, yet not so dim that you need to use a flashlight for your menu. Okay, first off: to the very kind person who, Friday night, complimented my nail polish: I checked and I thiiiiink the brand I used was OPI Nail Lacquer, "Mi Casa Es Blue Casa," #NLM92 . I hope this helps! The bottle didn't have the name on it (I think it came in a pack), but I looked at the OPI website and I'm 99% sure that's the right brand and specific color. Second: the restaurant!!! Everything was delicious and the staff was lovely and helpful and respectful and great. : ) A friend and I got the $40 Restaurant Week deal, and it was excellent. Highly recommend, definitely wanna come back soon.
