La Doña Cocina Mexicana

We stopped at La Doña Cocina for a late dinner while driving from FL to MA, and I’m so glad we did. We were the only ones there but the place still had such a fun, lively vibe. The staff made us feel like family — honestly felt like we were eating dinner at their house. The homemade salsas were incredible and everything we ate was delicious. They even gave us a small bowl of pozole just to try! There was a bit of a funky smell (like a bathroom), but I saw they’re temporarily closed now so maybe they’re fixing that. I’d still totally go back — the food and people were amazing.

Do not walk, RUN to this gem. The food is incredible. Really fantastic depth of flavor, fresh, and the corn tortillas are the best I’ve ever had. Cannot recommend their peanut and dried chili sauce enough. This place is the biggest and best surprise I’ve had in a long, long time.

It might take some time to get your food on your table but most dishes are made from scratch. The staff are very nice. Parking lot is small.

The place is very cozy and comfortable. I got a chicken tamale and enchiladas suizas. My wife got three chorizo tacos and a coffee. The food was all amazing. The tamale was huge, and it was some of the best coffee either one of us has ever had. The service was on point. It got a little loud at one point but that wasn't their fault. We will definitely be going back.

The atmosphere here was very creative and colorful, and the service was great. They seemed to take pride in the fact that the food was made authentically from scratch in the kitchen. We were hoping the food would be much better and more seasoned, but I did like the blue tortillas on the mushroom tacos.
