La Locanda Ristorante Italiano

La Locanda Very quaint place with great food (except for one dish…see below). We had a party of 8 and were seated immediately, although we did have a reservation. Server was a one man band, playing host, bartender, server and busser. No worries on our end, he was very efficient and the restaurant was about 1/3 full. Appetizers: Fried Calamari: very hot and tender, crunchy breading with lots of flavor. No marinara needed, though it was available for those that wished. Mussels: tomato based sauce, wonderful and full of deliciousness. Not a single mussel was left within 60 seconds of arriving to the table! Sausage & Peppers: also tomato based and very good. The appetizers, in total, all lasted less than 100 seconds at our table and we were considering ordering more! Entrees: Shrimp Risot

This was such an amazing dining experience! The food was incredible—truly some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. We started with garlic bread and sausage & peppers, which were delicious. I ordered the Fettuccine Cajun and my best friend had the Linguine Frutti di Mare for our entrees, and both were outstanding. The service was impeccable from everyone, and our waiter Memo took such great care of us. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic Italian with top-notch service!

If you're looking for a lovely restaurant to spend an intimate date or celebrate a special occasion with loved ones, then do NOT choose La Locanda. At the end of our dining experience, I left a tip based on the poor service we received from the night; critically, the server DEMANDED a higher tip even though they knew service was slow and that we didn't get our main course until almost an 1 hour and 30 minutes after we initially ordered. If you don't have the staff to accommodate the demand and capacity of a full restaurant, maybe don't open all the seats and force customers to be "understanding" and accommodating of the situation. This place is amazing! Food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable! If I could come here more often I would. So glad we found this place for our visit to Scottsdale.

We got the pesto pasta, house salad, tiramisu, and garlic bread. The pesto pasta was OUTRAGEOUSLY DELICIOUS!! The tiramisu was yummy! The salad was good but I think I ruined it by adding tomatoes (not sure I’m a fan of the dressing either). Garlic bread was good (nothing special). The service was AMAZING!
