La Morlaquita Bakery in West Haven is such a hidden gem. We stopped in for a bacon and egg sandwich and a few of their specialty desserts, and everything was amazing. The sandwich was fresh, warm, and perfectly made ... simple but done right. The desserts were the real showstoppers. The pear and rose pastries were not only beautiful but full of flavor, with smooth mousse and fresh fruit inside. The tiramisu was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. You can really see the craftsmanship in every detail. Everything tasted fresh, and the presentation alone makes you want to try one of everything. Definitely worth the visit. We’ll be back.

I recently tried these fruit-inspired pastries and I’m still blown away. They look like actual sculptures, If you want to treat yourself or need a "wow" gift for someone, this is the place to go. I'll definitely be back for more!

This place deserves to THRIVE. The quality of these lifelike pastries is incredible. Seriously impressive, will be coming back (often)

★☆☆☆☆ 1.0 Steven McKenna · Dec 2025

The flan tasted like eggs and had zero Carmel and was super dense and over cooked. Tres leches was more whole milk than evaporated or condensed so the cake was soup. I know it's supposed to be wet but the cake itself was obliterated And the gelatina was so dense I had to chew it for a while. The 10 dollar pastries looked like they came out of a box so those are probably good.

I stopped in for their fruit inspired pastries. The pear was delicious! The white chocolate outer shell was thin, not thick, and the painting was spot on. The mouse inside was light and super tasty with a spiced pear in the middle. I bought several and all were equally delicious. Theyvhave home made breads, cakes, cookies and some breakfast and lunch items. Looking forward to make a return visit.
