Let me start by saying we thought we had a reservation but it turned out to be the next weekend. The manager gave a table any way. Which was great, because I had never been here and want to try their food. Our waiter was very good and helped us with food choices. Since I don't do spicy at all it was hard to choose from. Wish I remembered his name but he earned that good tip. Now on to the food. I got the cod with veggies and the garlic mashed potatoes. The cod was overcooked and I had to cut into it to eat it with my knife. It was seared way to long. The veggies had no flavor at all. Also if you look at the second dish there is so much oil in the bottom of my dish. I'm sorry to ever say this but the Sweet Tea was not good either. How do you mess up on Tea? And my date said his was o

We went here today for lunch right when they opened. We liked the atmosphere, the customer service, and food. My husband and I shared the Boudin Balls (you get 3 total). I was nervous about trying them, but I’m glad I did. The Creole mustard was excellent! Our waitress said she liked to eat them with hot sauce and my husband agreed after tying it that way. My husband had the Crawfish Etouffee and really enjoyed it. I had the Country Gumbo and after mixing it up it was good with great flavor. I thought it was bland until I mixed it up. We had bread pudding for dessert and it isn’t a standard bread pudding. It’s more of a caramel apple pie meets bread pudding and they marry. It was good, but we will opt for something else next time. Overall, we were satisfied and we will definite

La Roux Bistro on Commercial Street - Springfield Missouri has so much love and detail into every aspect. My buddy and foodie friend Joseph Gidman developed this concept amongst his other amazing eateries on this historic part of Springfield. From the moment you walk in you feel at home. The beautiful murals, the upbeat vibe upstairs to the middle level where you literally walk into the kitchen to the downstairs vault. There is history around every turn and no expense was spared on the vibe and decor. The food is very New Orleans meets C-Street and I am absolutely in love with the French Onion Soup. My wife and I went for date night last time I was in town and we had an absolute blast. My wife couldn’t stop raving about the olive tapenade and charcuterie. From the freshly baked bread to th

I have been wanting to dine here since they opened . However, I live 60 miles away. Just so happens, my adult daughter and I were in town. Didn’t have reservations and was only dressed in jeans n T Shirt (felt underdressed ) We got there at 1050am . The doors were opened at 1055am . Upon entry we were greeted by at least 3 people . 1 behind the Bar , A host/Server and and gentleman who I would assume to be the manager . They asked where we would like to be seated. I gave them the option of where ever is best for them. Sat down stairs in the Bistro section. This place is beautiful. And as a Restaurant Chef/Manager I love to see the kitchen. From my seat I could see most of the kitchen. Upon being seated , with menus and utensils on the table , we were immediately given waters and greeted

We had a phenomenal time dining on the stone bistro level for a Saturday dinner. From appetizers to dessert, everything was great, and we loved all the detail that went into the menu, decor, and drinks. Our top items were the fried green tomato appetizer, the blackened redfish, bananas foster cheesecake, and the Cafe du Monde chocolate cake with coffee frosting. We’re excited to come back!
