La Star Buffet, Sushi, Hibachi Grill And Chinese Food

We just love coming to LA Star. The food is always so good and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is always clean, and the prices are very good in comparison to other places. We highly recommend!

I have never felt compelled to write a restaurant review until now. It takes a lot for me to be bothered enough to do so, but this experience genuinely warrants a warning to others. My family and I stopped here for lunch today. This is a Chinese buffet, which we eat at often, so our expectations were reasonable and realistic. We understand buffet food isn’t meant to be gourmet, and normally we don’t mind minor shortcomings. Unfortunately, this experience went far beyond that. At first glance, nothing seemed alarming. Payment was required before eating, which is standard for many buffets. The dining chairs had clean covers, and the initial walk past the food didn’t immediately raise red flags. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but my experience was disappointing from the start. Before we even sat down, we were told we had to pay upfront — something I’ve never encountered at a sit-down restaurant. It felt unwelcoming and set a bad tone for the entire visit. Dining out is about more than just the food; it’s also about the atmosphere and service. Being asked to pay before even seeing a menu or getting a table made it feel like they didn’t trust their customers. It completely ruined the experience for me. I was surprised at the fact that sushi was on a buffet! I was able to try different kinds! The ones that I tried I liked and would eat here again.
