Very good pizza restaurant! The place is spacious, and the pizzas are huge and delicious. We ordered four pizzas for five people, and it was definitely enough. The decoration is nice, and the pizzas are homemade — the crust was perfect: very thin and crispy. My only negative point is that it’s a bit noisy, which can make conversation difficult. Overall, I definitely recommend this place!
The pizza is hands down the best of NYC. We had a Marguerita with an added burrata as well as a filet of grilled bronzino served with a generous portion of delicious vegetables. I wanted to order another Marguerita for dessert but decided to behave and sticked to a good old school Tiramisu. You could tell pros are in the kitchen ! For my biggest joy, these people are not playing ! God bless their talent, dedication and seriousness. L'Antica serves an Italian cuisine a step above the dusty Italian New Yorker cuisine we have known so far. I am adding it to my (very short) list of favored restaurants.
We hit the jackpot with this place. The venue itself is beautiful. You have plenty of outdoor sitting, which we requested since it was amazing outside (68° F), and we had our dog. We ordered a bottle of red, the Caesar salad, and the diavola pizza. The salad was excellent. They fried the cappers, so it gives you an additional crunchy texture, and they're not as strong in the flavor. But, the pizza was the best part. It's not your typical size. It's about 12" and eight slices, plenty of food for two people. The pizza crust edges were crunchy and fluffy. The sauce was nice and subtle. It was amazing. We had a great night.
I had the arugula & prosciutto crudo pizza and enjoyed the delicious meal made from fresh and authentic ingredients. While this is definitely an amazing pizza it doesn’t match New Haven pizza. I wished that the dough would have been crispier.
The salads were phenomenal. Citrus salad was bright and zesty. The beet salad was earthy, nutty, and sweet. Get both! The pizza has the right sauce to cheese ratio and the crust is perfectly browned and chewy. The center of the pizza is a little soft/wet for my taste, but it’s a solid pizza nonetheless. The pasta noodles are clearly fresh made and cooked perfectly al dente. However, we didn’t order accordingly for our flavor palettes this visit — 3 out of the 4 pastas were too rich. The squid ink pasta had an overwhelming ocean flavor. The spaghetti nerano and cavatelli sausage e brocollini were overwhelmingly creamy, thick, and cheesy. The pappadelle genovese, what I normally order, was delightful as usual: the chewy noodles in perfect harmony with the tender, sweet short rib. Even tho
