The portions here are huge! For the noodle soup, you can actually see them hand pulling the noodles to order, which is pretty rare these days since most places use machines instead. Hand pulled noodles just have that perfect chewy texture. The beef malatang is really good too. As for the scallion pancakes, they’re a bit too oily for my taste. The environment isn’t the cleanest since everything is self-service, but overall, the food definitely makes up for it.
Great serving portion and affordable. This big bowl of mala noodle with sliced beef is my usual go to, gets me full every time. You can eat at the store, no tip needed.
A cheap, no frills, no tipping spot that serves huge portion of noodles. Wished the soup it was served hotter (temp wise) and the meat seasoned better.
I’ve always enjoyed the pan fried dumplings at Lao Bei Fang Dumpling House, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I ordered them to go and received my food almost immediately after placing the order. When I got home, the entire box and the dumplings themselves were completely cold. There were no pan fried marks on the bottom, so they clearly weren’t freshly prepared. I also noticed the dumplings were noticeably smaller than before. I understand that portion sizes sometimes change, but serving cold, non pan fried dumplings at full price isn’t acceptable. I’m hoping this was just an off day, but the drop in quality was significant compared to past visits.
Came here almost two years later and it’s just as good. The noodle soup portions have gotten bigger! Fresh hand-pulled noodles with seemingly endless toppings. I could come here everyday! ————————————————————————- I am in LOVE. This place is such a gem. If you want good, hearty Chinese food, this is the place to go. Not only was the food PHENOMENAL, the prices were unbeatable. The portions are more than generous. My soup was so packed with different toppings that it took me a minute to find the actual noodles. The dumplings were so fresh! You could see the chef hand-making the dumplings. I seriously can’t wait to come back here.
