The Lady at the front desk is extremely rude. The Chief public defender ( Sarah Mulbin) should terminate her. Maybe the Attorney General for South Carolina should terminate Sarah Mulbin. The public defenders office in Lexington S.C. is nothing but a big joke. The public defenders in this office won't even return your calls. I am definitely going to file a grievance with the S.C. lawyers bar and the attorney Generals office.

Whoever the woman is who answers the phone clearly hates her job and or her life. She sounds miserable , stated she can’t speak to me because I’m not a point of contact in my daughters fathers case . He’s been picked up on a bench warrant for a charge that was supposed to be dropped stated he needed to call up there himself , when he does nobody answers for him and he’s left several voicemails trying to reach his public defender. Absolutely the most unprofessional place , quite sad actually. What do these people get paid for .

Attorney Eric Basset is/was my public defender and not once did he reach out to me for consult regarding my case. I called him and left multiple messages and spoke to his overheard leading up to my court date. Nothing was done. I arrived to my court date late and met him for the first time and he gave no instructions. I’m lost and don’t know what to do.

The front desk person needs to be trained in customer service and basic legal terminology. Asking for help in understanding a process, and asking if there's a website with information, isn't asking for legal advice. She doesn't seem to like her job much and isn't helpful at all.

This office is a joke. We suffer because they are understaffed. The least they could do is have staff that are kind or helpful. My public defender is never there yet they tell me "he will get in touch with me when he has time". Then you never hear from them. The paralegals are terrible as well. How can you have adequate representation when you never have contact with your public defender? So frustrating and such a joke.
