First time going to this place today, my friend and I had lunch. Good food, gospel music playing so you know the food is good. Enjoyed the home cooking foods.
Disgusting! 🤢 A friend got dinner for my children & I this evening and I’ve been saying I wanted try this place out and I was extremely disappointed. Everything was ridiculously salty and flavorless. The cornbread had zero flavor and tasted like butter and crumbs, the chicken was similar to that of KFC, just grease and salt. The greens were also salty, no smoked Turkey or onion….. nothing to add flavor. The macaroni was odd, it had a milky, sour cream and pepper forward taste, I could see globs of cheese but it didn’t take like it at all. I certainly am not a fan at all. Beyond nasty 🤮 None of us ate it
Very nice spot to get some quick delicious fulfilling food. I had baked chicken with dressing, cabbage, and Mac n cheese. Mac n cheese 10/10, I can’t wait to get more. The white chicken was dry and the dressing was a little over seasoned. Overall, it’s good food and I would give it a try again. Free sweet tea with meal!! Very nice gesture.
First time here...4-5 stars...very good southern cooking! Customer service was great, everyone was so nice and they were playing gospel music which I absolutely luv, really sets a good atmosphere! Clean and neat, smaller inside but still able to sit. Went after church on Sunday and it got packed quick, line was out the door! Had fried chicken plate and smothered pork chop, comes with 2 sides and cornbread or roll. Side of pig feet also. Had Mac n cheese which was peppery and cheesy. Beans/peas and candy yams. Pork chop came over rice...had 2 waters...$34!! Well worth the price...I will absolutely be back, no doubt!!
Pretty friendly n quick, cordial. Food pretty good but inconsistent. Good portions and rotates at times. Cake Tea and mac n cheese usually pretty good. But meat changes day to day. Last few visits battered pork chop was a bit chewy and meatloaf too salty. Would love a veggie plate but the veggie broth between cabbage green beans and greens are very similar. I’d visit more if more consistent, I wouldn’t even mind a more limited daily menu if that could improve.
