Lito's Taco Shop

I stopped by Lito’s Taco Shop in Catalina, AZ for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It’s not a large place but it’s clean, has seating inside and covered outside, the staff was friendly and I enjoyed the food. I tried the Carnitas taco and it was very good. The shell was white corn I believe and held together well. Many corn tortillas seem to fall apart on me so I appreciated this tortilla. There was plenty of meat in the taco and it had fresh pico de gayo and some tasty sauce. The taco came in a styrofoam container similar to what a Sonoran hot dog might. That’s great if you getting taco’s to go or using their drive-thru option. Parking was ok with easy access. Recommended.

Lito’s Taco Shop in Catalina is an outstanding choice for fast Mexican fare. It’s a little building with a big heart. They’ve only been open for about two years and already they are making their reputational mark in the area. Of course they have more than just tacos. Burritos, tostadas, quesadillas, chimichangas, enchiladas, and more are available too. Breakfast is served all day. Lito’s Crazy Breakfast Burrito is the best breakfast burrito that I’ve ever experienced. On an earlier visit I had four very large tacos that were most excellent for only $18. The tacos are so large that you will need to use a fork to finish the mess. Their hot sauce is amazing. Service is very friendly and hard working. We tried to support a local business and this was a complete letdown. I ordered two enchiladas and one shredded beef taco(Combo #1) and a side shredded beef taco along with a carne asada burrito and instead got two tacos with beans and rice plus a soggy shredded beef taco wrapped in paper. The order was flat out wrong. I paid $14.25 for the combo with the taco and two enchiladas and when I pointed out the mistake they offered me a free taco valued at $4 as if that somehow made up for it. I still paid full price for an incorrect order. For how overpriced this place is this is unacceptable. There was no effort to actually fix the mistake and no care for the customer at all. This also was not the first time they have messed up our order. At this point it is just not worth the time or money. S

This is a no-frills taco shop with a drive thru. Prices are reasonable & the food is good. Had one of the daily specials, a chicken burrito. It was delicious. Honestly way better than some of the fancier Mexican restaurants around the Tucson area. You would think there would be a lot of options given how close to the border Tucson is, but sadly no. You can get better Mexican food on the east coast. Only downside of my meal @ Lito’s was the guac, which is more like avocado paste. Very basic. Otherwise, my experience was good.

Personally I love the Carne Asada burros❤️❤️ Friendly service, generous amount of meat (taste bomb), tomato, onion, cilantro wrapped in a huge flour tortilla along with red or green chili sauce.
