This is easily my favorite ice cream shop in San Diego. I used to drive to Oceanside for it, and now it is dangerously close at just 10 minutes away. The flavors are inventive, the combinations are sophisticated, and every scoop comes with its own creative topper that adds real personality. The ice cream is rich and full of flavor with a level of craft you do not see anywhere else. My must-try flavor is the banana pancake. It is savory and sweet with a chocolatey richness and a thick, almost cookie dough-like texture that is unbelievable. Other standouts include the lavender lemon and the apple chai spice. Little Fox is on my short list of best ice cream in San Diego county. The Cardiff location is adorable, situated next door to a great coffee spot named Rose Hill Purveyors. They let me sample many flavors and were super hospitable. I settled on two of their ice cream tacos- one was sprinkled and white and the other was a chocolate with pretzel (can’t remember the name of the ice cream inside). Depth of flavor, texture of ice cream, and creativity of flavor combos were all on point!

Best ice cream ever! Not only is every ingredient thoughtfully sourced, balanced creatively and presented impeccably, it also tastes phenomenal!! Real ice cream made with real ingredients, many locally sourced. We’ve been huge fans of Little Fox for years and are so grateful we don’t have to drive up to Oceanside to treat ourselves anymore. Cardiff is so blessed to have something this special! Every detail in each flavor, plus the beautiful aesthetics make this shop so unique. It’s unlike any ice cream you’ve tried before…it’s better!

We stumbled upon Little Fox Ice Cream in Cardiff and were completely blown away. The flavors were fantastic; I think we sampled almost all of them thanks to Meghan, who was so kind and patient with us. It was hard to choose, but the passion fruit and banana chocolate chip were my favorites (though there are several more I’m already planning to try next time). Not only were the flavors incredible for us, but they even had a dog-friendly option, which made our golden retriever very happy. Such a thoughtful touch. Will be back for sure!
