L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

Food is always tasty and portions are generous. The staff is okay, and quick with orders. Only taking off one star because the Diet Pepsi machine has been broken for over a week, hopefully it gets fixed soon!

Ordered the regular sized bbq chicken plate with rice and cabbage. 10/10. Chicken wasn’t fatty and it had an amazing flavor, rice was hot and fluffy and the portion was huge. $17ish dollars total. Will definitely find my way back here.

I usually go to the L&L in Cerritos but decided to try this spot. The food is pretty good as always. What really bothered me though was something I saw while waiting for my food. A homeless man came in and paid for his food. The manager threatened to call the cops on him even though the cashier pointed out that he had already paid. The manager even told the cashier that if the guy made a mess, it would be on her. Then, while the man was still eating peacefully, the manager told him “it’s time to go.” It’s 90 degrees outside, it’s natural for someone to want to eat inside and cool down. There was no compassion from him whatsoever. The man wasn’t bothering anyone, and it felt really unfair. It ruined what would’ve been a positive experience.

Quality of the food is not there. I had high expectations, it’s been a while since I ordered Hawaiian. The prices are definitely steep for what they offer. I would have been ok if the quality was at par. First, the chicken was inedible. It was chewy and seemed undercooked not grilled thoroughly. The bbq short rib was also inedible, it was all soft nothing but fat. The macaroni is the best from the plate. I didn’t try the shrimp but they did mention it was good enough not great. I wouldn’t be back honestly, I’d pass on this.

Clean place and the staff was great. I gave it three stars because I hit the Hawaiian BBQ places for the macaroni salad. Their salad was just ok. Other than that it was good. What you would expect
