We were here from Texas for a volleyball tournament. We had been on the waiting list down the street. With a 1.5 hour wait we decided to walk up the street a bit. One of our girls is GF. George was standing outside his restaurant opening the door and welcoming people in. He told us he could make anything we wanted GF. The food here was authentic! George was our waiter and the atmosphere, service, and food is top tier! If we come back to Boston this will be our first stop! ❤️ ~ Jennifer (Frisco, Tx.)
What an excellent experience. Busy Saturday and found a small table right away. Windows open and the city was filled with life. We started with meatball appetizer and was fantastic. Delicious home made meatballs. I had spicy chicken special and it was great. Jess has veal saltimbucco and it’s the best she’s ever tasted. For realz. Felt like family with an excellent server and the hostess who was likely the owner and full of personality. Cute place and will surely return next time we’re in Bean-town.
This place was great! The staff was so accommodating, making the antipasto for us even though they had run out of some ingredients (because it had been so busy that day)! Delicious drinks (sangria was amazing and the aperol spritz was perfect) and the appetizers we had were great! Would come back again just for the great service but the food and drinks were also worth it!
Solid italian restaurant, though not a standout even in boston. We were happy to get a table on a busy night with no reservation, and I would happily come here again in a last minute situation. Their meat sauce was fine, not as flavorful as some, and the lasagna could have used more sauce with it. The arrabiata was delicious, would definitely recommend it with the chicken and mushrooms, and the spiciness helped add something. The standard red sauce i found a bit boring to eat and didnt seem as fresh. For appetizers the artichokes were nice and especially the mussels and white wine sauce were excellent. Service was efficient, not particularly friendly but got us what we needed.
Lo Conte’s was just okay. The atmosphere is classic and cozy, and the service was friendly, but the food didn’t quite stand out compared to other North End spots. We were hoping for more flavor and a bit more attention to detail in the dishes. It’s not a bad meal by any means—just not particularly memorable. With so many amazing Italian restaurants nearby, Lo Conte’s didn’t wow us enough to make the “must return” list. Might be worth a try if you want a quiet, no-frills experience—but if you’re looking for bold flavors or something special, there are stronger options in the neighborhood.
