First time visiting Durham and we had to go inside of Loaf because we saw good looking breads! The milk bread was awesome. It reminds me of my home country’s white bread- Shokupan! It was as authentic as I could be besides the one I used to get from Japanese supermarket in Ohio. We also got eclair and it was delicious too. Come to Wilmington please!
We picked up some delicious breakfast on Saturday morning - savory tart + croissant and a fig scone. All were excellent. The gentleman who helped us with our order got us in and out of there quickly. Highly recommend!
ABSOLUTELY the kindness people work here! Today is my mothers 60th birthday and the DoorDash (for another bakery!) fell through twice even though I ordered days in advance. I scrambled (I am overseas not to mention) and last minute called Loaf to see if they could get a birthday breakfast over to my mother. I am so appreciative of their kindness to help out strangers and ensure my mother had a wonderful breakfast to wake up to this morning! 10/10 recommend! They have such lovely options to choose from too. Being French, I was pleasantly surprised with their authentic options too like a Gougere :) Thank you again so much and we will definitely be back!
Best bakery I’ve found while living in Durham. Creative flavor and texture combinations of nuts, molasses, ginger, fruits, and cocoa are a refreshing substitute for the bludgeoning sweetness I have come to expect from desserts. Always fresh baked each morning with new selections. Pricing is all over the map so I tend to frequent the cookies—usually around a dollar. Every time I go I love the simplicity of pick, pay, walk away, but be aware that there is no seating in the bakery. I recommend sitting by the Carolina theatre.
Amazing pastries with a great vibe. The shop has a limit of 3 people in the store at a time. All the things i brought tasted fresh and so good. While you shop you can catch a glimpse of people making fresh breads in the back which was so cool. They have a wide selection and i will definitely go again!
