Loco Taco

Absolutely fantastic!! The food here is incredible. I love the fusion of flavors. I ordered the chicken tinga and chicken shawarma tacos and my mind was blown. I really appreciated that they grill the tacos so they are crispy. They were both delicious however the chicken tinga was my favorite. The tacos are a good size and $5 per taco so pretty affordable. They also have burritos (which they grill too) that were out out of this world. And a pretty decent selection of desserts. Will definitely be back!

I had high hopes for Loco Taco based on the reviews I read, expecting a traditional Mexican experience, but the food turned out to be more of a fusion with Indian or Middle Eastern flavors. It was definitely different from what I anticipated. Some of the items I ordered did not arrive, which was a bit disappointing. For the tacos that did arrive, my husband’s lamb taco got mixed in with the others, making it hard to tell which was which. The flavors were quite strong for me, so I was unable to eat my tacos, though my husband really enjoyed the fusion and thought his meal was interesting. On a positive note, their potatoes were quite good. Overall, it may not be traditional Mexican food, but if you enjoy creative flavor combinations, it could be worth a try. I am completely blown away by this restaurant and the quality of the tacos I just had the pleasure of eating. Not only were they PACKED with their ingredients, but the flavor profiles of each unique taco creation was simply unmatched. I personally had the Arabes, Tikka Masala, and Greek tacos, and each one was full of their respective meats and toppings. I really love finding new and interesting dishes whenever I go out to eat, and this shop for sure expanded on what the normal limitations are that tacos usually fall into. I also would like to mention that the person working there was fantastic, and prepared these tacos to their highest potential for a pick up order that was 20 minutes to close. Loco Taco offers a really cool fusion of Mexican and Middle Eastern flavors with their burritos, tacos, empanadas, and fajitas. I’m well versed in taco/Mexican restaurants and this place has moved to the top of my list. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The kicker is that the tacos are only 5$ but you get bigger portions than any greater Portland taco spot I’ve been to that run 6-8$. Seating is somewhat limited indoors to a few tables but they do have picnic tables outside and offer takeout which you can call in or order online (pictured in my review).
