Long John Silver's

When this location burned down a while back I believe I shed more than a few tears. I had been coming here for years. Then the announcement came that it would be rebuilt and the excitement was everywhere! The new building is modern (bummer... I'm GenX and we like our nostalgia) and very clean. The staff is crazy friendly and so helpful. The food is fresh and classically tasty. My only complaint is the location, as has been the case for a very long time, is difficult to enter and exit from depending on the direction you are coming and going. Yes, it is LJS, and yes, I am a proud member of that "secret society" that happily and proudly keeps them in business.

I went inside yesterday, 1/28/26, around 2pm to get some food and to pass some time with my kids. Larry assisted me at the register. He was very friendly and helpful. Made my stop a lot easier. Every crew member I spoke with were friendly too. Food came out quick; was hot, fresh and delicious. Would definitely go back.

The food and service was good. The dining area needs more attention to detail. There were cobwebs on decorations on the wall. Most of the tables were dirty, along with the floor. Went to get Tarter sauce and all the steel containers holding plastic ware and condiments were filthy. It doesn't look as if anyone bothers cleaning them. They have dry splatters from customers getting condiments.

The service I received drive thru was very good! Very attentive, listened and apologetic for the wait time. I was more disappointed on the size of the piece for chicken. I ordered a #1 and a #12 with 3 piece chicken. The chicken was three small pieces the size of chicken nuggets. I don't know what has happened but Ljs isn't cheap and to be robbed on the amount for the chicken needs to be corrected. I don't live right in town and I only make the drive to Temple and out of my way once a week. My daughter asked for the crunchies and didn't receive it. I'm doubting to try again at Temple after today.

Ordered online for carryout. First time in a Long Johns in many years. Greeted with great friendly customer service. Made sure everything was good and ready to go. Everything was hot and fresh. We love the hushpuppies, and the waffle fries were a newer addition for us they were really tasty. Not many crumbs in the bottom like there used to be. The only complaint is the fish and chicken as always and always has been overly greasy.
