Dylan Specht was hands down the best lawyer I've ever had and this was for a trial with a jury. The Jury loved him, the Judge loved him and hell I love him! He's very detail oriented, very quick to object the prosecutors line of questioning when out of line, and the judge very much respected his skill set. He might be young but don't let that fool you as his wisdom and intellect are beyond compare. He will go far in this career path. The PD Office is quite fortunate to have him on their team!

Today my husband was appointed a public defender in has case that was ongoing for 4 years, a lot has happened in that time and i truly believe he was not advocated for properly prior. In the small amount of time our new public defender Susan Cooley was given to look over a large daunting stack of case files and information, then briefly introduced to my husband and listened to what he wanted, she AMAZINGLY advocated for him and spoke so well highlighting positives to the judge rather than just telling him he's screwed which has been how he's been treated prior. Thankful for the work public defenders do and the time the take and the knowledge they have anyone who hates on them I can tell you they've done a hell of a lot more than I've seen any paid lawyer do.

The Los Angeles County Public Defender solely pursues factual arguments and plea agreements at the expense of legal matters and constitutional rights of defendants. They will attempt to manipulate you out of your own constitutional rights and call it making "strategic decisions" in your case. But there is no strategic decision where it results in violations of their client's constitutional rights during criminal proceedings. The truth is, guys that no lawyer can lawfully predetermine the interests of any defendant or predetermine the neglect of the constitutional rights of defendants. Defense attorneys also do not possess the authority or discretion to waive, deny, or disregard the constitutional rights of their clients for any reason once soever! Don't let them do this to you. All legally

The Los Angeles County Public Defenders Office is excellent. Naturally being a law office that provides free legal representation to quite literally thousands of individuals at a time, it should be understood that sometimes things may take some time in order for the Office to review cases. And then there are times when that’s just not going to be feasible. I will not go as far as to say that it depends on the luck of the draw, but in reality, it depends on the ability for the Office to provide a solid legal defense based on the facts and information provided and/or available. A case that I was involved in, was handled better by the Public Defenders Office than it has ever been handled by any private attorney. I am beyond grateful for the help of the Los Angeles County Public Defenders Offi

What a bunch of bums. Back in '91 I was framed for something I didn't do. They gave me a crooked attorney named Thom Tibor of the public pretenders office who tried to railroad me into pleading guilty even though I was innocent. I had to go to trial pro per. I of course won because everything the public defender's office, and the D.A.'s office had was falsified and easy to prove so. Long story short, they are an arm of a very corrupt D.A.'s office.
