Los Portales Mexican Grill & Bar

We ordered takeout, and the estimated wait was 25 minutes. We arrived at 20 minutes and the food was ready to go. On a busy Friday night, we were impressed. The Soap de Pollo was hearty and flavorful, perfectly bagged to keep it from tipping in our carry out. The ground beef in Burrito Gordo was seasoned well. The bottom of the burrito was a bit soggy, but most likely due to being transported in the vehicle for 20 minutes before eating. Refried beans were on point, and the rice was well seasoned. Salsa was not too spicy, probably 3/10 at most, and complemented the burritos very well. We will definitely be back to dine in.

We chose to eat outside. Overall, it is a great place to eat Mexican food. I was with a party of three and everybody's food was delicious. Service wasn't bad, per se, this evening it just wasn't optimal. I definitely recommend going there.

It gets a little crowded, but this is a definite favorite restaurant for us! We take all of our visitors and so far no one has been disappointed. Their margaritas are fabulous, as are the street tacos

We went to Los Portales (Keys Ferry Rd, McDonough) on a Friday night with four adults and two kids and were told a 20-minute wait. While we waited, multiple large tables sat empty for over 20 minutes, fully set with chips and napkins, while paying customers were forced to wait outside in the cold. These tables were being reserved for “regulars” who hadn’t even arrived yet and were seated immediately when they finally showed up late. When we questioned the delay, a waitress told my pregnant daughter-in-law that they seat regulars first and hold tables for them. That is unfair, potentially discriminatory, and a clear violation of basic restaurant rules. All customers should be treated equally. We waited over an hour and 20 minutes while non-regular customers were ignored. Management admitted

I will never come back here again. I suggest going to the Mexican restaurants in Jackson. When we got here we were told it’d be about 20 minute wait. We waited over an hour just to be told that they have regulars they sit first per the hostess seating people. We then were told that they were waiting for a table in the back corner they had already paid and waiting to get up. Waited 15 minutes just to see they had just for their food and were just now eating. I told them to scratch our names off the list and talked to the manager but he didn’t care about anything I said just that he’ll train the hostess and people upfront to do better. He didn’t care about anything that I had told him. We waiting in the cold for an hour just to be told there’s nothing he can do. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They only
