Louis Pappas Fresh Greek Lakeside

Always love to stop and eat great Greek food when I am visiting Lakeland. Outstanding food. The homemade potato salad and soups are out of this world..........MBL.

This small but cozy spot was nice. The food tasted great, the service wasn’t too long, and the workers were nice.

I love the Chopped Greek Salad here. Even the small is a portion large enough to take half home for lunch. They put a shrimp and a beet on top, and both are delicious. I wish they gave you more of those. I also wish they still gave you the anchovy, but alas, they do not anymore.

My wife and I stopped by Louis Pappas Fresh Greek, at 1318 Towncenter Drive in Lakeside Village, Lakeland for dinner. We were there at about 6 p.m. on a Friday and the restaurant was not crowded. You order from the counter and the food is delivered to your table. The service was fast and friendly. I had the Classic Gyros served on a pita with a side of their Greek Chip-Style Fries. The gyros was delicious! The Greek Chip-Style Fries are their house made potato chips with tzatziki and crumbled feta cheese on top. Very tasty! My better half opted for the Traditional Mousaka with a side of broccoli. We also had Dolmades as an appetizer, but they were gone before I could get a photo. My wife says that they are fantastic. This is the only Greek restaurant that we’ve been able to find

Three stars instead of 1 are only because of the blonde waitress who tried to make it up. A classic gyro with "shaved blend of beef and lamb" in fact has a paper-thin pancake with some flavoring that is supposed to taste like meat. It doesn't. The salad was made of iceberg lettuce, some tomatoes, green (!) bell peppers, crumbled feta and...ONE calamata olive sitting proudly on the top). The drink was offered to a 2 piece combo meal. If you have a gyro - too bad, not even a glass of water. It's up to you if it sounds appealing, but we definitely not gonna be back.
