$8.25 = oreja, cornbread, and 2 bolillo. Bolillo were 2 for a dollar. No receipt given. Overcharge? Chocolate dipped oreja - chocolate tasted like the fat/oils in it were either stale or low quality. I didn't detect much cocoa mass/flavor in the chocolate. I wouldn't recommend the chocolate dipped items. The oreja itself was sorta bland. I'm not sure if I'll eat the other bread, tbh. I felt disillusioned by the first piece, but I gave it a shot, and it really did not improve as I finished it - I was hungry, and needed something to eat. I wish I had a better experience at Lucy's bakery. I felt overcharged for low quality pan. Maybe I came on an off day?
Tasty sweet treats (pan dulce). My wife and I shared 3 different kinds and a torta cubana -- which had hotdog, eggs, beans, and other stuff you wouldn't get in a Cubana. I still enjoyed it.
I’ve seen the reviews of the bread being bad, but I went in early today and they were just taking out the bread ! Some of the BEST bread I’ve ever tasted . And I LOVE conchitas. The customer service was great, the lady is supper sweet, I would’ve kept talking to her but there were other customers and I didn’t want to take up too much time. If you’re iffy about going Because of the reviews, go early to get the best breads !
Really needed a caffeine boost and delicious bread, I stopped by Lucy’s bread for the first time, they had all the classics pan dulce, on top of that they were kind, patient ans understanding. They were stocking fresh new bread, it was worth it stopping by there, now I get to share pan dulce with my entire family. Thank you Lucy’s Bakery.
I went in late Wednesday night to get some sweet bread. They were getting ready to close and the woman was covering all the bread with big plastic bags. I guess to sell again the next morning. The bread looked dry and stale upon first glance, but I decide to give them the benefit of the doubt and I got several items to see if one would at least be good. I spent a good $16 on a variety. When I got home I tasted literally each piece of bread and all of the pieces were hard and just plain. The bread seemed like it was from 3 days old. The conchas looked like they had dirt on top and not it’s original soft crumble. All of the bread was super hard and not worth the $16 I paid. You can see from the photo how bad the bread looks. For $16 I would expect soft bread and not 3 day old hard bread. I d
