We had a delicious, relaxing dinner last night before seeing a play at Portland Playhouse. We both had rice-noodle entrees, one with shrimp, the other with chicken. Both were delicious and fresh. I had a coconut-kumquat drink, my partner had a passionfruit juice. Both were tasty, refreshing, and interesting (in a good way). Ordering was a bit confusing, because the laminated menus did not exactly match the categories on the iPad kiosk, but we figured it out. The high-ceilinged open space is easy on the eyes.
3/5-UPDATED from 7/14/2025: A mixed bag this round, but still rooting for Lúa. Came back for dinner with the family tonight and left with mixed feelings. • Disappointed to see canh bí đỏ với tôm discontinued • Heo quay was cold and chewy • Canh hẹ với tàu hũ lacked flavor • Wontons and dumplings were okay, just chewy not tender • Xá xíu was solid • Lemongrass pork came with more fat than meat • Ube and egg coffees were fine as drinks but didn’t taste like ube or egg Ordering was confusing: the self-service kiosk didn’t match the outdated printed menu, which added to the frustration. We enjoyed sitting in the shared outdoor patio with The Box Social, but keep in mind with the posted sign: “Welcome to the Box Social! Feel free to order food from Lua at these tables but you must also get s
Really don’t know what to improve here…. The meats are awesome!!!! The crispy pork and the short ribs and lemongrass chicken is super well done! My kids loved the pho!
I absolutely loved it here. The food was incredible! A little wait, but sooooo worth it! All the hot food was sizzling hot! Must check this place out if you're around the area. Thank you! 😊
We dropped by for phở today and our phở were so good. The beef was excellent but the broth was too greasy. Extra point for the authentic noodle (bánh phở). In terms of service, we expected a faster serving for pho in stead of waiting about 20 mins to get served. Another inconvenient thing is your have to get to the counter to serve the condiment yourself in tiny plastic cups. Overall, the food is good but you should expect it like a food court so you would be happy. There is only one staff taking order, making drinks, serving and cleaning so dont expect any communication
