M Cafe

We are regulars at M Café in Columbia, SC, and we almost always order the create your own option. Our go-to is five vegetables with fried tofu, all sautéed together with Thai basil sauce. Quick heads-up: this sauce isn’t listed as an option on the menu, but they are more than happy to make it if you ask. In my opinion, it’s their best sauce. We also order the vegetable fried rice made with brown rice. There is an extra charge for choosing brown rice, but it’s worth it for us. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and satisfying. The servers are always kind and welcoming, and the bathrooms are clean, which I really appreciate. There is plenty of seating inside and ample parking outside. I've always had a great experience here. On my visit last week we noticed a stark change in the employee's attitude. We were seated close to the kitchen and our hostess was very dismissive. After having to send one plate back for under cooked rice and string beans. We discovered the salmon was also cold. Joe another waiter was helpful in getting the dish replaced. We were told the owner would speak with us. We watched as he spoke at length to other customers. He then walked straight passed us without even acknowledging our presence.

My wife and I have been coming here for years, and the food has never let us down. We make it a point to visit every year on our wedding anniversary, and it has become a little tradition for us. The beef kabobs are always my go-to, and my wife never passes up those wonderful Hawaiian rolls. The staff is kind and welcoming every time we visit. On our most recent trip, our waitress, Morgan, was especially pleasant—very attentive and happy to offer suggestions. We’ll be sure to ask for her again.

I thought this restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere and vibe! The food was fabulous at a great price-point. Unfortunately, the waitress had no personality and did not bring out food for all at a nearly same time (although that may have been the fault of the kitchen). I felt she was just "doing her job" and did not put in any extra effort. I will, however, give it another try because the food was great!

I had my mom a 50th birthday party and this venue was nothing short of amazing. It was spacious, and beautiful!!! The owner was the absolute best person to work with. She was very thorough and helpful from the first day I contacted her. She is truly a gem and I would give it 100 stars if I could!! I would highly recommend!! You will not be disappointed.
