Madison Bear Garden

Well, another adventure in finding new spots down. The food was mostly flavorless and very overcooked. Had the Papa Bear Burger. It was very well done and the onion ring (both on the burger and the side) was so overcooked I'm pretty sure the onion was actually not part of it anymore. The onion rings tasted like bland fried batter. My wife had the Bear Burger and, again, it was mostly flavorless, but at least not overcooked. We both had to add the dipping sauce found at the table on our burgers to make them more palatable. The fries were just kind of off. More importantly we suffered into the night for our decision to eat here. The burgers sat harder on the stomach than a McDonald's burger and were very angry at having been consumed. Ok food, pretty much over cooked burgers and fries... Even when you ask for medium rare. Order of 6 chicken wings is $25 with tax. Burgers are $20 Service non existent. It's self service. Bar service is good... Unless you ask for a beer that they keep in the back bar (although advertised up front), at which point they yell into a loudspeaker viamicrophone and yell for a server to bring it up.. about 5 minutes later after my date was served. Don't go in Tuesday night. They play Bingo over their extremely loud PA system, ruining your meal. Ok dive bar for college students but certainly not a place for families, kids or dates Even single adults like myself who showed up to an empty restaurant at 5:30 on a Wednesday couldn't get the manager to put the NFL Network game on just one of thei

An incredible selection of burgers, almost equaled by the variety of hot dogs! A wide variety of starters and side dishes - raises the bar for 'fun food at a bar." A historical building and a historic bar! The decor will keep you entertained while sharing a beverage with friends and enjoying the fantastic atmosphere! A very comfortable experience! 🍻🍔🌭🍟🍻

What a wild and fantastic place. Absolutely unique. Locally recommended. The grilled cheese pulled pork was incredible!

Certainly a place to try because of the decor. The food is good, just nothing extraordinary. The pork (and with grilled cheese) sandwiches are tasty.
