Mae Ann’s Taste of Soul

It’s opening week, so I know there is going to be some hiccups. The place was packed. Which is generally a good sign. The folks are nice. The food was a bit underwhelming. I think with how busy it is the food is having to come out faster than flavor allows. Some things needed cooked more, some were just lacking in flavor that time allows for. All in all though I think this place has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing how it grows.

We came here for the buffet with our family and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. We do understand this is a brand new restaurant and that they may still be trying to find their footing, so we want to keep that in mind. However, the restaurant was extremely hot inside, which made it uncomfortable to sit and eat. The food itself was also very bland and lacked seasoning, so it wasn’t very enjoyable. The biggest issue was that they began closing early while we were still there, but we were still charged full buffet price even though we didn’t get the full experience or access to the full selection of food because they ran out. That was really disappointing, especially after already not being impressed with the food quality. We truly hope things improve as they get establ

If you're looking for a great place to eat with a good atmosphere, you have to try out this all you can eat, soulfood buffet. This is food right from your granny's kitchen. Delicious food, friendly staff, great prices, clean and welcoming. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this is a must try when visiting Opelousas.

The food was dry especially the chicken if I was to rub that chicken tg it would start a fire. The onion rings was so stale I bit it and it bit me back the only thing that was fresh was the salad and the gumbo dirty water the actual water was good though.but for 18.99 a person i expect better
