So good! The two of us went a bit overboard and tried 4 things and a sticky rice but we ate almost all of it and took the rest home so no harm done. We loved everything. The boat noodles are legit and super flavorful, the dry tom yum is so good it might have been the star dish for me. The northern thai sausage feels as if I was eating it on the street in Chiang Mai with all the galangal, lime leaf, herbal, spicy flavor. It's served with a little cabbage, some peanuts, ginger and Thai chilies. The holy basil stir fry was so good but we ordered spicy and it could have been spicier so next time we'll do Thai spicy. Everyone who served us was super friendly. Can't wait to come back.

We came to Mae Thai after watching the sunset at Griffith after seeing it on Michelin Guide as a bib gourmand. What stands out about this place are their flavors and reasonable prices. We got the signature boat noodle soup (small only) with beef and thin rice noodles, Tom Yum Noodle soup with pork and egg noodles, and the chili basil stir fry with chicken. The standout dish was the Tom Yum with its perfect flavor profile: not too much coconut or lime flavor dominating the soup. The service is nice and attentive, environment is simple, but clean. There's plenty of parking at this location underground so easy for any return visits we plan. If you're looking for a low-key, reasonably priced Thai dinner Mae Thai is absolutely worth a visit.

My husband and I arrived around 6:30pm on a weekend to a full house. We waited around 15 minutes before we were seated and ordered right away: Poached and Dipped Beef, Boat Noodle (soup), Boat Noodle (dry), and Tom Yum (soup). We were in a time crunch so we definitely appreciated how fast the food came out. Every item was a delight, especially the sauce that came with the Poached and Dipped Beef. The beef in the noodles were so tender, and the soups were so comforting and flavorful! I highly recommend checking this place out.

I was introduced to Mae Malai by a friend under the premise of its Michelin Bib Gourmand award. After dining here, I can see why it has earned it. I loved everything I ate here. Mae Malai Thai House of Noodles is located in a plaza in Thai Town. Although the surrounding streets are just as hectic as the rest of Los Angeles, the plaza is a surprising respite offering a parking lot with ample parking. If there’s no parking spaces above, try going underground. The restaurant is small yet popular, so there’s sometimes a bit of a wait even on weekday nights. Bar seating is available for smaller parties. Service can also be a bit hectic as the floor is busy and seemingly understaffed. I tried asking for a Thai tea after we put in our order - that Thai tea never made an appearance at our table,

The boat noodle - it tasted very good, though I think the servings seems smaller than I thought. The Kao soi - Chicken curry was very very good. The crispy pork with vegs was excellent! Omelette was excellent! The fried rice was decent.
