Magnolia is one of our family favorites. Chef Steve and team serve up amazing tasting food in a comfortable lowkey environment. We had the crawfish empandas (forgot a picture) as an appetizer. The dough was light and airy with ample large crawdad pieces covered in etouffe!! My daughter and I went with the all-you-can-eat catfish. Filets were large, crisp, and breaded perfectly in cornmeal batter. My wife chose crab cakes. They were tender and well cooked. We all took asparagus from her! Scott provided attentive service even as magnolia was slammed all evening! Another great meal from Magnolia!!
Came for lunch. The place was pretty packed but we got a table no wait. Food came out at a normal lazy pace but understandable because of the crowd. Food was tasty and comforting. Chicken dumplings is a must try. Ditto on the chicken and sausage gumbo. Although I would have liked more sausages in it. I like my chicken and sausages cubed instead of shredded like how it was here. It was still good. The wait staff came off and on to apologize for the wait and filled up our waters. This was the first time I tried fried green tomatoes. It was definitely unique crunchy and tart. Not too bad. Good meal.
The food was amazing, from the appetizers to the main meal and dessert. Everything was made fresh and as you could see in the bread pudding just dripping with flavor. We were here as part of Pearland Restaurant Week and supporting the Pearland Neighborhood Center. The dessert and fresh and delicious. They win the best restroom in Pearland so far.
The food here was just ok. Definitely not a true representation of Cajun style food. I had the sampler appetizer, hardly any seasoning and not fried properly. My main meal was red beans and rice with Jalapeño cornbread. The beans were hard, and the cornbread was really dry. The food wasn't the greatest, but the drink from the bar was very good and the waitress was nice.
Steven, Stephanie and staff were awesome, every step of the way. The food was phenomenally. They helped make our Sunday School Holiday fellowship the best we ever had. We will surely be back. Schieketha
