Maid-Rite

Nice place for maid-rites from a vintage location built in 1928. Cool aesthetics, but vibe seemed a bit quiet and somber. Great hand dipped shakes! Worth dropping by if you're near Rend Lake in southern Illinois.

Nostalgic for me! Love the food and atmosphere and all the memories of a kid I have here with my great grandparents. Food was just as good as I remembered! Didnt have pie this time but my mouth was watering looking at them! Will always stop when driving down south!

Old school hometown simple cooking done right! 3 of us. Had 4 maid rite sandwiches (ground/ minced beef shaped loosely onto a hamburger bun with raw dice onions and mustard), fries and chili cheese fries, sodas plus pies. $50 total for lunch. Great service, quick, no complaints. Good food! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty bite!!

Best Pie around! Not only do they have maid-rites, They have polish sausage and kraut on a sandwich! Yummy soup and chili too!! The girls are always sweet!

The MaidRite is an experience where you go back in time to the old fashioned barstools, a fountain soda, MaidRite sandwich and golden crinkle French fries. If you’re not a burger fan, the chicken strips are excellent! The pie is homemade and a favorite. Town regulars meet in the morning for coffee and a chat. Just a great place to visit!
