Maki of Japan

I've been coming occasionally here with my family for almost a decade. I'm not sure if they changed management but seems like whomever they hired in 2025 going into 2026 is super rude at the counter and the manager or whomever the guy was is childish. Don't get made because I I asked for my order to me remade because your employee added vegetables that I said no to before paying. On top of that I paid for double protein but when it was remade it was less meat. I questioned the less portion and the guy was short with his response "it's double, goodbye". They both need to go find employment with not human interaction. I basically got a ton of rice with the chicken teriyaki spread across the rice to make it look like double protein for $18.

Oh boy.. got a cold terriyaki chicken today... fried rice top with terriyaki chicken.. not worth for the price .. $14++.. wont recommend.. better eat at a fine dinning not in a food court inside the mall.

BEWARE. My wife almost swallowed a metal wire from her teriyaki chicken at Maki of Japan in Castleton Mall. We’ve been eating here for over 10 years because we love their sauce, even though service and food quality has gone down a lot lately. On April 16, 2025, we picked up our usual order. My wife and 3-year-old son were sharing theirs, and just a few bites in, she screamed and pulled out a metal wire from her mouth. If our son had gotten it instead, this could’ve been a medical emergency. I took the wire back to the workers. They barely reacted—just said “sorry” and gave it back to me like it was no big deal. I purchased a shrimp teriyaki meal. When I got home and opened the container, I was highly disappointed! They put LOTS of rice in EVERY section! There was barely any vegetables, and the shrimp tasted like they just "warmed" some pre-cooked shrimp! I tried calling the restaurant to voice my concerns but was unable to locate a working number!

This place is not what it use to be. Barely put any chicken on your plate and the food is about a 5 out of 10. Did I mention the price is expensive for the amount you get now? Years ago you would get plenty of food, For a good price. They are not friendly either here. It’s a complete rip off and I will never buy here again.
