This was the home cooked meal away from home I wanted! Deeeelicious!!😋 The greens were perfect and tender and the mac n cheese was real, with real texture. I really enjoyed my meal. I did play it safe with the catfish and they nailed it!! I topped it all off with a peach cobbler alamode. Very very tasty! The staff was welcoming and accomodating. I'll be back and highly recommend Mama Carol's Soulfood.

Just tried some amazing soul food and my taste buds are still smiling! The food was seasoned to perfection, hearty, and made with love. From the tender porkchops flavorful greens, love the yams and cornbread so good and creamy mac & cheese, everything hit the spot. If you’re craving real, comforting soul food, this is the place to be. Highly recommend! 🙌

When I say EVERYTHING, everything was delicious! 🤤 I truly enjoyed the experience and customer service as well. I’ve heard great things about this restaurant but it had NOTHING on what I experienced. This is some REAL down home cooking and everything was quality. Not any buy locally from Costco’s serve quick food. This here is some down home cooking, cooked and served fresh! We had the Mac and cheese (to die for), curry chicken (I’ll take another), oxtail stew (never had it before but it won’t be my last), chicken strips and fries (still thinking about the breading and those fries), pig feet (my friend is sending me back for more), pulled pork sandwich (better than down south) cornbread, greens and cabbage. Since they opened, it’s been my go-to, and you best believe whenever some of my celebrity friends come into town, they’re all about making a beeline to Mama Carol’s. Seriously, it’s that good! Walking into Mama Carol’s feels like getting a warm hug. The smells hit you immediately, and you just know you’re in for something special. The food? Man, it’s legendary! The fried chicken is crispy and seasoned to perfection, and those collard greens made with turkey instead of pork? Pure fire! And you can’t sleep on the macaroni and cheese—it’s so creamy and delicious that you'll be going back for seconds (or thirds)! Absolutely delicious meal! Wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and we shared several sides: corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, red beans and rice, yams, and of course, cornbread. A lot of options even for the vegetarian (me.) What we ordered was easily only half of what we wanted to try. Everything was scrumptious, one of our favorite places to eat in Anchorage now. We even took home a banana pudding and peach cobbler. Service was amazing, friendly folks who checked in on us throughout the meal. Good vibes through and through. Many thanks.
