If you haven’t been to Mama Teresa’s Flying Pizza & Italian Restaurant yet, you are seriously missing out! The flying pizza alone was such a fun and entertaining experience, it made the whole night feel special. The service was absolutely excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming the entire time. We ordered the Mama’s Meaty pizza and it was hands down the BEST pizza I’ve ever eaten. Perfect crust, loaded with fresh toppings, and full of flavor in every bite. And don’t even get me started on the Chocolate Eruption, it was rich, decadent, and the perfect way to end the meal. All of that for under $36?! You truly can’t beat it. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and unbeatable value. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone looking for something differ
Mama Teresa's has the best pizza on the island. The crust has a superb taste and texture, and tears just right with every single bite. The cheese and sauce are obviously of the greatest ingredients and create a perfect fusion of flavor. Because it only consists of the most basic of ingredients, I like to rate my pizzerias on how well they can make a Margherita style pizza. I have tried quite a few, and will defend the fact that Mama Teresa's is the best I have ever had. It is my go-to order when I am on the island!
I don’t want to act like a pizza-snob from New York, but I am one. I ordered a medium pizza with mushrooms and onions. Flavorless, bland sauce on a dry, weak crust. I ate half and took half away. I gave it to a homeless guy on the way to my car. Service was very good. Atmosphere was not Italian at all. Old R&B music playing and loud NFL football at the bar. The could use a little Frank Sinatra music or similar.
We stopped in earlier in the day and had Sterling as our server—he was incredibly fun and super personable. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and how calm and quiet it was. It’s a great spot slightly off the tourist path and made for a perfect mid-day rest stop.
Mama Theresa is a must go to every time we travel to Galveston. The food is phenomenal, large portions, and the staff is rad. Did I forget to mention that you will dream for days of the chocolate cake.
