Mark has been doing my and my husband's taxes for a few years and we truely could not be happier with his service. Our taxes are complicated and got thoroughly botched at commercial chains in the past, but he does an excellent job and helped correct old filings. Hes very honest and incredibly knowledgeable, and while he may be a bit expensive, you truly get what you pay for. He also is very easy to get ahold of and is a pleasure to work with. I contacted Mark to provide me an estimated cost to file my 2024 taxes, single filer with no LLC's, dependents, etc. He asked me to send over some documents in advance before he could estimate his fee for the return, including my W2. We then met in person wnd he told me it would be $1,500 for my relatively simple, single return. It is my belief he saw my income and adjusted his fee upwards accordingly. While I am sure he is a great CPA, his fees are either exorbitant or he intentionally adjusts them based on your income. I would avoid if possible.

In February of 2024, I've contacted the CPA's office to request a consultation for an issue with my withholdings from a part time job along with my new york state retirement. The original contact on the phone on our discussion to make an appointment I was advised it should take approximately thirty minutes for this consultation. My appointment lasted almost 1 hour and I was charge $360. The only information I received is during this meeting was to change my status to "married, filing separately". I already had an extra withholding of $50 set on my W4.
