Martin House Inn

Super clean and lovely B&B with quick walk to downtown. Lobby and public space is spacious and comfortable. As other reviewers noted, breakfast is not your typical B&B delight - very basic pastries, some fruit, packaged bread/English muffins/bagels and a toaster, hard boiled eggs, some individual yogurts and juices in the glass-front fridge, and Keurig coffee maker. But on the other hand, the price was right for us - our room was small, on the third floor with a double bed (comfy firm and superior bedding) with a tiny bathroom (which could use a little shelf, as there was not room even for toothbrush). It was all shiny clean and comfortable and just what we needed.

This was our 2nd visit. Our first visit was in 2021 and it was magical but now it's very much changed. The Innkeeper is different from before but seemed pleasant (although not seen much). We arrived and there was no welcome; just an envelope with our key to our 1k a night loft. The loft was beautiful but gone is the hospitality, the magical breakfast of homemade granola or wonderful scones and the history discussion with an Inn Keeper that values their residence and town. Now you get some bought pastries with a hard boiled egg and a Keurig.. every morning. |When you stay at an Inn like this, you generally expect to have something you remember or something homemade or a specialty and they are welcoming and happy to see you. Very nice and romantic 1803 inn, bathrooms renovated. Clean. I stayed in 2 different rooms over my stays ( due to working on Nantucket multiple stays). It’s not a modern hotel if that’s what looking for. No tvs. Beds were great. Breakfast is okay nothing great nothing terrible. Free coffee throughout day and waters/juices. Manager was responsive and nice to chat with!

Another great stay at the Martin House! You cannot beat the location and coziness of the inn. David is wonderful and makes sure you have a great experience. He is always available and goes out of his way to make sure your needs are exceeded! We love that they offer a continental breakfast and everything you would need for a beach day. We will definitely be back!

Such a great place to stay - perfect walking distance to all in town attractions but on a quieter street. It also has a beautiful porch and backyard area, which gives it more of a house feel and place to relax outside. David, the Innkeeper offered amazing service and showed great concern for ensuring all guests were happy with their stay. Each day there were fresh citrus waters, baked goods and more. Rooms were spotless and freshly decorated. Can't wait to go back!
