Mary Vinson Memorial Library

I grew up in Milledgeville, and this library is where I met my childhood best friend, and spent countless hours grabbing books for the week, or precious new ones to take home with me forever from the book fairs they hold every year. I have nothing but great things to say about this place and the staff, and this library and all the efforts everyone here puts into promoting reading is probably part of why I grew up so passionate about books and reading. When I got married in June, we had a "storybook" theme, and wanted to put old books everywhere. I loaded up at the library fair a couple different times and found some true treasures (like one book from 1853!). Wonderful library! 😍📚

The place is clean and staff is nice. Wifi sucks cut off several times. I wish they had private study rooms because the kids can be very loud. Can’t read or study because it’s so loud. People talking super loud and sounds.The area does not have any private area. You can hear the staff speaking loud downstairs. Students please don’t come to study.

So many good memories here as a child and now my children get to enjoy it. Selection is impressive. It’s obvious the staff works hard to keep everything clean and organized. The kids activities are great! Love our library!!

The best library in ever. The most friendly staff ever. They have a huge selection of books and movies. The upstairs is for adults and there are computers there to use the internet. Down stars is a room for teens with books, movies,computers, and a place to sit and read. The kids section is amazing, and has been upgraded since I've last been. They now have toys for the smaller kids to play with, computers with educational games to play on, and of course plenty of book, and movies. They also have special events for the kids on certain days. And they do a summer reading program for all that want to read. And give out prizes for completion. Love this place!!

Of the many libraries I have used in my long life, this one has one of the most pleasant and helpful staffs I have encountered. Reference staff will help you find information you need. Circulation staff will make every effort possible to get the book you want into your hands as quickly as possible. I'm grateful for the required responsibilities library members must assume. Responsible members play a huge role in making the library successful filling its purpose.
