Matawan Aberdeen Public Library

We are SO lucky to have this marvelous facility in Matawan. The staff are AMAZING. I just received Tech support from Aun and Scott for my phone that neither T Mobile nor Samsung could fix. For Free! In under 30 minutes! I'm beside myself in glee. Wow! And thus while 20+ kids are wildly entertained with the carefully planned educationally enriching event offered for the day here at the library. I love this place! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Unfortunately, one bad apple spoils the lot. There is a very angry Liberian in the children's section. This one is tall, Caucasian, has blond hair, and wears  glasses. There is another woman that works there on other days  but she is sweet as pie. There was a Saturday that we came in about a month ago, and I sat with my children for some time and stepped out to get a coffee. Of course, I was not aware of the rule, and there was no sign posted. I believe the library is a safe place. She kept walking up to my children and embarrassing them and refused to render them any assistance to find a book. Even though she was disrespectful to my children  the last time, I returned and apologized. The real only threat in the library that day was actually the public Liberian that was hostile and vindi

This is a lovely library and the staff is very friendly, however, they seem to forget they work in a library and talk very loudly to each other and the patrons. I have gone there a few times to work in the 'quiet area' and it is any but quiet. If the library staff would talk in lowered voices that would be very helpful. It is hard to concentrate on what I'm doing when others are talking so loudly. I'll have to go to Old Bridge and get a room. thank you

Love our local library!! All the ladies working there are lovely. If they don’t have a book you can request it through the app and they’ll get it from a partner library. I have yet to encounter a book I couldn’t get!

I've gone here since I was little. Great for books for little kids. Some of the events are very cool and interesting. My favorite person who works there is Ruby. I've seen her at shoprite multiple times as well. However, the library is pretty small and my dad says that the people who work there always try to force him to do all kinds of events and raffles and such.
