Mateo's

Mateo's and Bold City brewery are one of the best local food and brew places in Jacksonville. The foods is always amazing and they one of the best burgers in Jacksonville if not the best in my opinion. Oh and don't sleep on these nachos.

Who doesn't like a brewery attached to a restaurant. We grabbed some mac n cheese bites, a chicken taco, a cheesesteak and a hot dog combo. The standard issue we had with all of the dishes they were over salty, but it's bar food. The stand-out winner of all the dishes was the chicken taco, totally amazing!!! The signature cilantro sauce was great (even for someone like me who is not a fan of cilantro). The mac n cheese bites were addictive and good but were heavy and greasy. Cheese steak was full of cheese and had a good cook, but it was not my favorite dish. Hot dog was also good; split down the middle and had a lot of variety of sauces and toppings options that made my kid happy. Definitely going back to give it another go Pizza and more tacos are on the list to try!!!

I've been on what I've titled a "Jacksonville pizza journey" - trying to hunt down the best New York style pizza in the city. At each place I order the same thing - either a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni, or if they don't sell by the slice I order a half cheese, half pepperoni 10" pizza. I've tried pizza all over Jax, eating at the same places multiple times to give them the benefit of the doubt if the pizza was off on a given day. Mateo's is the current reigning champion. The flavor is awesome. The crust is cooked perfectly. The sauce is delicious. The light sprinkling of Italian seasoning is on point. Mateo makes his dough in house and has been making pizza for years. The price is beyond reasonable. If you truly love pizza, I can't stress enough that Mateo's needs to be on the

Best food I’ve ordered in this area! Swiss Burger, Cheesesteak, Little Bit of Everything pizza and cheese chili bacon fries! Amazing!!!!!! Great atmosphere!

Chef B cooked up one of the best burgers I've ever had today. Excellent !
