Matthews Seafood Market

We recently placed an order for 4 doz Betsey oysters for our Feast of the Seven Fishes Christmas Eve dinner and they were absolutely pristine and delicious. The Matthews staff are always extremely kind and accommodating, and were so helpful with this order. We had a family member pick our oysters up, drive them back to Camden County, and we set them out around 5pm. The oysters were shucked perfectly (so clean), the ice had barely melted, and the oysters were ice cold and incredible. Everyone at our party raved about the oysters and we couldn't be happier! We've used Matthews all summer for fish, shrimp, and oysters and adore this gem in Cape May. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop, everything that they sell is extremely high quality and it's as clean as whistle inside. We love Matthews!

We came here after going to the zoo as it's not too far from it. Pros: The price is good for the lunch menu, the ingredients are fresh in August and are likely local, the flavors are good. Cons: The scallops were overcooked in my opinion, even the shrimp was also a bit over. The crab bruschetta has some overpowering balsamic vinegar which we didn't feel paired well with the crab. Overcooked seafood doesn't bother us too much as it's common. I like my scallops a bit raw in the middle but others may not agree. As a tourist the meals we and up eating in the area are lacking in vegetables/fiber. This meal has a good balance at a good price, so we would come here again.

Wow!! The food was amazing!! Fresh ingredients!! Clearly an owner and staff who genuinely care and are passionate about what they do. Highly recommend!

Our go to restaurant in Cape May Courthouse. Never disappoints. Excellent service. Amazing delicious dinner specials. Relaxing atmosphere & nice live guitar music. Love the outdoor setting. BYOB Too!

Great atmosphere at this cute restaurant. Beautifuly maintained. Friendly staff and good food. Live music in the summer. Outside seating is available. This place is always busy and locals love it. There is also a seafood market and takeout.. fresh produce is for sale here too. Overall this is a great place to come and try.
